Comparison of Young Living Frankincense quality with Frankincense from a US Health Food Store.

Note the large amount of activity on the gas chromatogram graph below .  Each spike on the graph represents one of the essential oil constituents listed below the graph like a-pinene or myrcene. Each constituent has specific healing qualities - like calming, antibacterial, antiparasitic or stimulating.  A therapeutic-grade high quality oil will have many spikes or constituents that provide a wide spectrum of benefits.

Frankincense from US Health Food Store: see graph below

Note the small amount of activity on the gas chromatogram graph for this Frankincense oil. This indicates that the oil was either distilled improperly or adulterated with unscented chemicals to extend the quantity of the oil and thus, increase profits. There is very little healing benefit from this essential oil even though it may smell just like the Young Living Frankincense oil to the untrained nose.
